Mandee Kate Schaub, MS is a PhD candidate at The University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, TX. She works in the lab of Dr. Gregory Dussor where she investigates mechanistic contributors to migraine pathophysiology using mouse models and human nervous system tissue. She is focused on using electrophysiology to understand consequences of protease-activated receptor 2 activation on sensory neurons, particularly in humans. Driven by her personal connection to the disease, Mandee is dedicated to advancing the understanding of the mechanism of the pain phase of migraine, and uncovering therapeutic targets to reduce the burden of pain on people living with migraine. She is also passionate about patient advocacy and public education surrounding migraine and hopes to excite others about investigating such a widespread and burdensome disease.
