Professor Philippe Luccarini, is instructor in the biological engineering department of the University Institute of Technology in Clermont-Ferrand (France) and researcher in the Neuro-Dol laboratory (UCA/Inserm 1107), Trigeminal Pain and Migraine team. His research focuses primarily on the pathophysiology and pharmacology of migraine. He developed a preclinical rat model of migraine, which was used to identify novel therapeutic targets, including the role of astrocytes and D-serine. His current work explores potential anti-migraine treatments, particularly dual enkephalinase inhibitors and delta opioid receptor agonists. His approaches include in vivo electrophysiological techniques, behavioral, pharmacological, and immunohistochemical studies.
