In this session attendees will learn about current safety considerations impacting pediatric and young adult LGBTQIA+ headache patients, including medical, legal, and psychosocial, and how to apply these to improve patient welfare.
Learning Objectives:
Translate research findings on special risks for disordered eating, childhood abuse, and depression in this population to effective patient screening for headache risk factors
Practice supportive care for LGBTQIA+ youth, including awareness of recent changes in access to resources
Apply understanding of psychologic and physiologic effects of gender affirming care cessation on headache to clinical practice of headache management
