In this session we will describe the association between migraine and cardiovascular events, particularly ischemic stroke, among a cohort of 1.8 million veterans who received treatment in the VHA system.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the relationship between migraine and risk of ischemic stroke in the Veterans Health Administration
  • Describe the methodological factors that impact use and interpretation of electronic health record data
  • Consider the risk of ischemic stroke stratified by patient characteristics.
